One of the biggest miss-takes that people make is not recognizing their mistakes and learning from them. I believe our generation is genuinely caught up in wanting to do their lives faster, but at what cost?
One great story is about a German woman, in her late 70's, just realizing that giving is greater than receiving. She grew up in a culture where you saved everything..perhaps it was a result of living through the depression and WWII. After attending a funeral in her home country, she realized that Germans are buried in shirts without pockets. Why, she asked.
In certain European countries, it is a custom to bury the dead in shirts without pockets to symbolize that "you can't take it with you." She had lived a life of harboring her worldly possessions and now had an "a ha" moment that created this paradigm change.
She recognizes that not giving was her singular biggest miss-take in life. My challenge to you, my fellow blogger, is to not miss major observations in life....it will truly be a big miss-take.
